My Son-in-law, made us a wonderful pot roast with spaetzle over the holidays. It was one of the best pot roasts I have had in a very long time. I don't own a spaetzle maker and have no clue about how to use it anyway. So, I will not include a recipe for the spaetzle. But I want to say that I truly appreciate the work David put into the dinner. This recipe calls for a bottle of beer, David was insistent that it be a very good quality German beer and if the results are what I tasted then I agree 100%.Pot Roast
Bottom or Rump Roast
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup A1 sauce
1 package onion soup mix
1 bottle of beer [good IPA]
Put in a slow cooker or crock pot. Cook on low for 8 hours.

This sounds great.... When beef goes on sale (I'm back on the Grocery Game -- saved $101 tonight) I'll do this!
I made this pot roast into a fantastic sandwich the next day!
This sounds great! I'm going to try it, but not today, as I don't have a roast; my hubby says I'm snowed in--can't get out of my garage. He'll plow me out tonite.
